Conductivity of a solution or water refers to its ability to conduct an electrical current.

Conductivity of water should be measured for a variety of reasons. Drinking water should have an electrical conductivity less than 1 mS/cm and water used in pharmaceutical industry should have a conductivity less than 1 µS/cm.
